The September Garden Clean Up
Yes, the garden is emptying, but I can still find some life..
Remember that canteloupe that was so well hidden?
What about these lemon yellow tomatoes?
and these tomatoes ripening on the vine by the back gate?
Then there's my Dahlias
From this view, the dahlias and morning glories are in their glory
Want to see some close up? They have a little story. I was given some roots or corms for Dahlias a few years ago, and they mutiliplied so nicely, I gave two baskets full away as gifts. But then ours grew a mould in the basement and I lost mine.
This summer my friend Kathy offered me a few, and four of them came up. But they have multiplied so well, I now have two boxes full!
Let's go around to the front yard and see the last of the Kaiser Kronen (lilies)

Dad's apple tree laiden heavy with fruit this year
Dad patiently coring and peeling his apples hour after hour on the rainy days
Just that pile of pulled broccoli plants left - this side is ready to rotor till for winter
Looking from the alley gate back to the house, this half of the garden is ready to rotor till too. Soon as the soil dries out some.

The last of the carrots are in the kitchen, and the harvest is done! Dad has cleaned out the rain barrels too, and brought one big blue barrel into the sunroom, and filled it with clear rainwater, so I can water the aloe vera jungle through the winter.
Yes, we're about ready for winter now! However, we hope it holds off a while yet.
Well... perhaps I have a bit more clean up work to do in the flower beds. :)
